Day 5

Day 5

Morning in Portland

We woke up and headed downtown for one last walk around and to get some of these famous donuts we had heard about. The Holy Donut did not disappoint. Nick got a Maine blueberry and I got a dark chocolate glaze with toasted coconut!

After that we grabbed some coffee, I bought a shirt and we were on our way to Vermont!

Drive to Vermont

Most of our drive today was through New Hampshire but it felt so much like Up North Michigan. Since we took our time in Portland this morning we arrived to our hotel In Brattleboro, VT around 4. Our plans to hike got cancelled due to the rain and potential storms. Instead we went to the hotel pool and got ready for dinner.

Downtown Brattleboro

The small town of Brattleboro was nothing like the bigger cities we’ve been in but it was a cute little town with a really cool brewery!

Whetstone Brewery and Biergarten

Yummy food, good beer/cider and amazing views. Watching the sunset after dinner on the roof Biergarten made our hikeless day a lot better!

Overall Vermont was a relaxing stop. We wish we could have done more but sometimes Mother Nature has other plans! The calm, mountainous atmosphere was still refreshing.

Next Stop –> Buffalo, New York!
